Visit of the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Reunion Island to the Ministry of Agriculture

This Thursday, January 6th, Minister Houmed Msaidié received a delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Reunion Island, led by its president Ibrahim Patel, who is the host of the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Handicrafts (UCCIA) of Comoros, was keen to meet with the minister to talk about existing opportunities on the economic level between the island of Reunion and Comoros. President Patel is particularly interested in exchanges between Reunion and Comorian entrepreneurs in the field of the poultry market, a sector which is of great interest to our Ministry of Agriculture.

Also, the president of the CCI of Reunion expressed the wish to see Comorian officials come to Reunion to meet the economic operators of the sector and discuss the potentialities of the Comorian market. Minister Msaidié informed them about the construction of a laboratory concerning food quality and international standards to enable Comorian production to conquer the regional market.

It can be said that this meeting has opened real prospects for regional trade in this area.
