Adoption of the bill authorizing the President to ratify the supplementary financing agreement relating to the financing of the Family Farm Productivity and Resilience Project (Prefer)

The deputies adopted yesterday afternoon, November 30, the bill authorizing the President of the Republic to ratify the supplementary financing agreement relating to the financing of the project Productivity of Family Farms and Resilience (Prefer)

After the vote Minister Houmed Msaïdié first thanked the External Relations Commission of the Assembly of the Union of the Comoros for the hard work they have done during the last days for the adoption of this bill.

His thanks went of course to all the honourable elected representatives of the Union of the Comoros for the confidence expressed in the Ministry by voting unanimously for this law.

As a reminder: The present project covers a total of 48 villages distributed in 5 rural centers of economic development (CDRE) as follows

Grande Comore (CDRE of Simbousa): 10 villages in the zones of Mbadjini-Sud (Nkourani, Famare, Dzoidjou, Tsinimoipanga, Simboussa, Nkouranimkanga, Ngnouma Milima, Inani, Darissalama, Bandamadji Lakouboini).

Anjouan. 22 villages located in the High and Intermediate zones (CRDE of Mremani): Adda Doueni, BandraKouni, Banda Ladjandza, Jandza, Dagi, Kangani, Komoni, Kiyo, Magnassini, M'Remani, Mridjou, Ongojou, Trindrini), and the Sima peninsula ( CRDE of Boungoeni) (Bimbini, Boungoueni, Hassimpao, Kavani, Marahare, Milembeni, Mirongani, Mromouhouli, Sima).

Moheli. 16 villages in the zones of Djando (CRDE of Mibani) (Wanani, Siry-Ziroudani, Sambia, Hamavouna, Itsamia, Hagnamoida, Nkangani and Mlabanda) and the CDRE of Mledjele (Nioumachoi, Ndremeani, Wallah1, Wallah2, Ndrondroni, Miringoni, Barakani and Hamba).

The beneficiaries targeted directly by the project are: 7,000 households, particularly the most vulnerable groups, namely small-scale agro-pastoralists, who make up 35,000 people, including 14,000 women (40%) and 5,250 youth (15%).
